Dr. Passov’s Journey

In 1994, I had my first chiropractic treatment while visiting a friend in Maui. After I got up from the table and left the office, I stated: “I’m going to chiropractic college”.

When I got home from Maui, I put the chiropractic thing out of my head and chalked the whole experience up as a nice part of a great vacation.

That summer, I was in a rollover accident on the 101 freeway and got pretty messed up. I was referred to a Chiro in my area where I began regular treatments and my body responded marvelously. By the end of this experience, I started to think that perhaps this “accident” wasn’t really an accident and I made the decision to go to chiropractic school.

I know this will sound a bit woo woo, but I asked the universe (or whoever) for a sign that I was doing the right thing and I got one! I ran into an old friend at my gym, and while we were catching up, I told him what I was about to do. Just so happens that his sister was a chiropractor practicing on Maui. It was in his sister’s office that I had my first treatment and made my big statement. That was my sign.

I graduated Cleveland Chiropractic College in L.A. in 1999 and started practicing in 2000. I have been at my same location since 2002.

I graduated from Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in 2006 and I finished the Clinical Nutrition course offered by the Clinical Nutrition Certification Board in 2008.

I’ve been enrolled in the Functional Neurology course with the Carrick Institute since 2010.

I’ve attended every lecture by Datis Kharrazian, studied KST (Koren Specific Technique), NET (Neuro-emotional technique) and TBM (Total body modification therapy). I’ve also studied with Dr. Jack Tips of Systemic Formulas, AK (Applied Kinesiology), NRT (Neuromuscular re-education therapy), and attend the yearly IAACN symposiums.

Through all of this, I uncovered I had Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism, but the blessing has been being able to manage it naturally as well as pass on what I’ve learned to my patients.
